Song of India began in 1932 as Mathur Perfumery Works. They are a third generation family business which has experienced impressive growth during the digital era. They accredit their immense success to superior quality, consistency, and customer service.
We offer a wide spectrum of products from distant and remote parts of India to our customers, truly epitomizing the rich diversity of Indian Art, Craft and Culture. - R. Expo
The company's history began with Mr. Jagdamba Prashad Mathur. In 1932 he began creating incense for his local village under the guise of Mathur Perfumery Works. Using natural ingredients and traditional techniques, his products became quite beloved within the community.
Later, his business was passed onto his son, Mr. Durga Prashad Mathur. His son aimed to stay true to his father's techniques and after him and his wife opened up a legitimate storefront, the business thrived to success. In 1972 he opened R. Expo, along with new manufacturing facilities.
R. Expo is still owned and operated by the Mathur Family. Four siblings, Raj Kumar Mathur (the eldest brother), Ashok Mathur (the middle child), Shiv Kumar Mathur (the youngest brother) and their sister Raj Kumari Mathur (the oldest sibling) are currently operating the business. The same location setup by their grandfather over 80 years ago is still in use today.
R. Expo commits a portion of their profits to aid needy children of rural villages in India.
Notably, they help provide them with school and education supplies.
